A painting of the Castlemilk West Parish Church.

The church was built in the late 1950s and stood in Castlemilk on a triangular site bounded by Carmunnock Road, Glenacre Terrace and Glenacre Road until it was demolished in 2021.

The church was known to the local community as Noah's Ark.

The building was unused and had fallen into a state of disrepair when I came across it during walks around the southside of Glasgow. It seemed to me it had already been abandoned and left to be forgotten but a lone tree that stood near it seemed to be tethering it in place until the bulldozers arrived and it was swept away.
