"I'll save you!"
'My good friends, the voice that uttered these words was so close to my ear that it seemed a whisper from another land; and I thought I was already dead.
How was I to reason otherwise?
In that moment of death, on that distant moor, the words were like a supernatural answer to my prayer.
I trembled.
The sound of the winds, the falling snow, brought me to myself.
Then the words were repeated :
"I'll save you!"
