One of new collection of miniature drawings - each measuring 9.5 x 6.3 cm
This collection began unexpectedly when I found a tiny pad of my favourite paper at Greyfriar’s Art Shop in Edinburgh. Measuring just 9.5 x 6.3cm, it was a far cry from the large-scale formats I usually favour, but I bought it out of curiosity.
After sitting in my studio for months, I finally experimented with it—and was immediately hooked. I loved the challenge of balancing miniature precision with the same energy, looseness, and expressiveness found in my larger works.
As the collection grew, I realised these pieces evoked "cabinet pictures"—the small-scale works popular from the 17th century onwards, designed for the private display cabinets of art collectors.
These miniatures have quickly become a vital part of my daily practice. They allow me to experiment and finish ideas rapidly, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the larger paintings that can take months to complete.
I started adding these drawings to my shop during April of 2026 and will continue to release new pieces on the 1st of every month for the rest of the year. My hope is that this intimate format makes owning original art more accessible, allowing you to build your own personal collection over time.
