"Saint Peter's Seminary Drawing nine"
A drawing rendered in pencil on paper
One of a collection of drawings and sketches I produced after visiting Saint Peter's Seminary near Cardross in Argyle and Bute.
The building is a former Roman Catholic seminary designed by architects Gillespie, Kidd and Coia. It was built between 1961 and 1966 and is listed as a Category A Listed Building. The seminary closed in 1980 and the building has been abandoned and been empty and unused since 1987.
I have been working on sketches and drawings over a few months and visiting the seminary as I develop ideas for a series of paintings I will work on in 2026.
