Walking through the streets of Dowanhill and Hyndland can feel to me like walking through a dream of Glasgow – a half remembered, half dreamt version of a city that feels like myth. These two tenements stand alongside each other on Highburgh Road like a reflection of each other. They seem connected and yet forever apart and I imagined connections of dreams and imagination and experience knitting the two worlds of the structures’ inhabitants together. I tried to capture the dreamlike atmosphere the area has for me in a panoramic image of the two tenements reflecting each other with two figures mirroring each other also. The figures dance and float on the currents and waves of dreams, illuminated by streetlights and the glow of lights from some of the windows. As the viewer gets drawn into the ebb and flow of the movement of the dreams they could begin to wonder if the dreamers are dreaming of each other – are they dreaming of the buildings – or if tenements are the source of the dreaming
